At about 45 feet (14 meters) long, the Tylosaurus was one of the largest members of the mosasaur family of marine reptiles. The Tylosaurus was a large, water-bound lizard that evolved from its land-based ancestors. These beasts roamed the seas roughly 65 million years ago.
Tanystropheus was a 6 metre long reptile that dated from the Middle Triassic period. It is recognizable by its extremely elongated neck, which measured 10 ft long longer than its body and tail combined. This unique feature made this specimen a natural fisher, able to pluck a variety of seafood fresh out of the water without even getting his collar wet.
