A study has shown that cow’s whole milk can be associated with occult loss of blood from the gastrointestinal tract, in both early and late infancy. However the same study suggested that cow’s milk has no adverse effects later in life. It can be harmful for infants. Several studies have shown that feeding infant with cow’s whole milk at six months of age can lead to iron deficiency.
